Stowe is Buried in Snow - Ski Area Off to Its Best Start in a Decade

12/18/07 STOWE, VT - From opening day which arrived ahead of schedule thanks to heavy snowfall back in mid-November to right now, Stowe has been the perfect picture of what you want a winter resort to be. Stowe's latest snowstorm totaled 18-23" on Monday; bringing early season natural snowfall totals to over nine feet and climbing. Snow banks are building toward five feet along the road leading up to Mount Mansfield and Spruce Peak at Stowe Mountain Resort with bottomless powder conditions on the East's most authentic ski & ride mountains.

"You have got to be here to understand just how good this place has been so far this winter," said Kim Brown, the skiing scribe of Stowe. "It brings back memories of the epic start to the winter of 1997-98 when it snowed for 27 days in December," Brown added.

Stowe Mountain Resort is now 100% open and in prime mid-winter condition. With the Christmas holiday right around the corner resort and town officials expect a boon holiday this year. Visitors planning a ski trip this December can still take advantage of their advance sale discount ticket program valid through the holiday week.
